The Seahawks head to Jacksonville this weekend looking to get back on track after last week's loss that snapped a three-game winning streak.

"Just had a really good Friday," Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald said. "Excited to do our three-day trip, and we're really excited for the game. We've got more work to do, so we'll be focused on that, but in the meantime, go Hawks and go Mariners."

If the Seahawks are going to earn a ninth consecutive road victory, they'll likely have to do so while playing shorthanded in the secondary once again. Safety Julian Love, cornerback Devon Witherspoon and cornerback Riq Woolen, who between them have four Pro-Bowl selections in the past three years, are all listed as doubtful for the game. Woolen (concussion) left last week's game with an injury, while Witherspoon (knee) and Love (hamstring) missed last week's game. All three were limited participants in practice on Friday.

Asked about potentially missing multiple starters in the secondary again, Macdonald said, "That's the life we chose. It's unfortunate for those guys. Our guys work extremely hard and they put it on the line all the time and they play hard and play for each other, play unselfishly. And when those opportunities get taken from you as a player, it's a tough deal, but this is how it works. This is how you have to operate, this is how you have to work through things. The silver lining of the thing is a lot of guys are getting a lot of guys are getting a lot of opportunities at this point of the year that we're going to need later in the year, so it's going to give us depth. And we've seen that the guys have stepped in over the last two years have come in and a lot of times played winning football for us. So that's the expectation. We say this all the time, but the standard doesn't change on how we want to operate and how we want to play.

In addition to the depth the Seahawks have on the 53-man roster, another possibility is to elevate veteran cornerback Shaquill Griffin from the practice squad.

"Shaq could be part of the plan based off of what's going on, yeah," Macdonald said, later adding, "I love having Shaq out there because he competes. He attacks all the mental stuff, he knows it, he's got a great attitude, and he competes. We can go into games with that for sure."

Derick Hall, who injured his oblique last week, and reserve tackle Josh Jones, who has an ankle injury, were both ruled out, as expected. Macdonald said that while there is no timetable on Hall at this point, the third-year pass-rusher is trying to make it back after Seattle's Week 8 bye.

Linebacker Ernest Jones IV (shoulder) and safety Nick Emmanwori (ankle) are both ready to go after being on the injury report this week, as is outside linebacker DeMarcus Lawrence, who missed last week's game with a quadricep injury.

"He's a really important part of our team," Macdonald said of Lawrence. "He's set a tone since he walked in the door. It's on record what we think about him and how he handles his business, and what we think of him as a person. So it's great to have him back out on the field. I'm just thinking about practice right now, he made several plays today that we need to be able to make in order to give ourselves a chance."
