The Seahawks open preseason play on Thursday night with the Las Vegas Raiders coming to town, and while NFL teams do not put out injury reports in the preseason, head coach Mike Macdonald did provide some injury updates following Tuesday's practice.

First, on a positive note, running back Kenneth Walker III was back and looking explosive as always after getting a couple of days off to rest his foot. Walker likely won't play Thursday—Macdonald said most starters won't play—but he looked great in Tuesday's practice, a good sign for a player who figures to be a key part of the offense.

On offense, Olu Oluwatimi missed another practice, watching from the sideline, with Macdonald saying, "Olu's back tightened up a little bit. It's really day-to-day at this point."

Starting linebacker Tyrice Knight also was a spectator after leaving Monday's practice with an injury.

"He just got in a little tangle with his knee, so we'll get it imaged and go from there," Macdonald said.

Long snapper Chris Stoll continues to be sidelined by a back injury, leading to the Seahawks signing another long snapper, Zach Triner, on Monday.

On Stoll, Macdonald said, "It's positive, he's getting better, but we don't know how long it's going to take."

Macdonald had no new update on veteran defensive tackle Johnathan Hankins, who has not yet practiced in camp due to a back injury.

As for veteran cornerback Shaquill Griffin, who has been away from the team due to a personal matter, Griffin was back at practice, though not participating, on Tuesday.

"We have a plan for Shaq, he's back," Macdonald said. "He's missed some time, so you can't just throw him in and let him rock with the wolves, so we have a plan, we'll stick to that."

Linebacker Josh Ross is recovering from hand surgery, Macdonald said, and "should be back soon."

Receivers Steven Sims and Montorie Foster Jr. are both dealing with hamstring injuries and are close to returning.

"We're getting closer, probably day-to-day at this point, a couple more days," Macdonald said.
