The Seattle Seahawks organization is looking forward to reconnecting with its fans in a big way.
After a long-awaited homecoming, and a year of planning, the Seahawks announced this week a special series of events for the first week of the regular season to officially say, "Welcome Home 12s," as they celebrate the return of football and full capacity for fans at Lumen Field for the 2021 season.
"I think it's a reflection of how important the fans are to this organization, to this team, there is a spirit, and it goes from the upper reaches of the organization to every corner of this organization," said Jeff Richards, Seahawks Vice President of Marketing and Community Engagement, on why celebrating the fans is so important. "There's a gratefulness, and an appreciation for our fans and how they stick with the team, how they show up for the team on Sundays and every other day of the year."
Fans will be invited to join their fellow 12s in the Muckleshoot Plaza at Lumen Field to watch the Seahawks open the regular season as they take on the Colts in Indianapolis. The fans are welcome to attend the Kickoff Viewing Party presented by Bud Light on Sunday, September 12, from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. PT.
Gates will open at 9 a.m. PT for the 10 a.m. PT kickoff. Fans will enjoy music, food trucks, yard games and big screens to watch the game in a festival-like atmosphere. Plus, the Lombardi Trophy and Super Bowl 48 Ring will be on site for fans to take photos with. Tickets are $20 and guests must be 21+. On Tuesday, September 14 the Seahawks are heading out into the community for a special one-day take-over of the neighborhoods. Mascot Blitz and Seahawks personality Gee Scott will be making special appearances at neighboring restaurants to pass out Seahawks 2021 schedule posters and "Welcome Home 12s" rally cards. Plus, the Seahawks community team will be giving back by delivering special employee-prepared care packages to Mercy Housing residents at Gardner House and Allen Family Center, visit https://www.mercyhousing.org/northwest/mount-baker-family-housing/.
Then it's time for a toast! To celebrate the 12s returning to Lumen Field, join the Seahawks at Elysian Fields for a special Blue Friday Happy Hour at 5 p.m. PT on September 17. Fans can enjoy live performances from Blue Thunder and the Seahawks Dancers, grab some Seahawks swag, and enter to win exciting prizes. Plus, the Seahawks are picking up the tab for the first 100 drinks.
For Week 2 of the regular season, the arrival of the 12s will be anything but quiet. We want to "bring back the noise" and shake up the stadium. To celebrate the team's home opener vs. Tennessee on September 19, fans will enjoy a special pre-game performance on the field with Seattle native and four-time Grammy winner, Macklemore, along with local guitarist and radio chart-topper, Ayron Jones. Fans are encouraged to arrive early to catch this amazing musical event directly following pre-game warm-ups.
It is evident that the 12s are the backbone of this organization. The relationships that they form with one another, and the players is powerful. Although fans were absent from Lumen Field during the 2020 season, their pride, loyalty, and love for the Seattle Seahawks has held this team up. The Seattle Seahawks organization can't wait to welcome you home, 12s.
12s in the Pacific Northwest and beyond are invited to follow along on Seahawks social media channels throughout the week of Sept. 12-19 for exclusive prizes and giveaways, including tickets to the home opener at Lumen Field vs. Tennessee.
