Head coach Mike Macdonald and the Seahawks are preparing for one of their last three home games of the season when they face the Minnesota Vikings. Right now, the Seahawks will be without George Holani (hamstring) and Rylie Mills (knee) and Ty Okada is questionable (oblique). Along with notes on those players, here's four things we learned from Friday's press conference:

Rylie Mills Return To Practice

Rookie defensive end Rylie Mills had been on the physically unable to perform list since the start of the season, and just this week was designated to return to practice. This week, Mills has been a limited participant.

"Great first start," Macdonald said. "You can tell he's really excited. It takes some time to get the flow back, get the movements back. All these other guys, they've had however many reps since the spring that they've been able to stack, so he's got a little bit of ground to make up, but I'm excited to see where it goes in the next couple of weeks.

While it is late in the season, Macdonald said he "thinks" there is a chance Mills could play in a game this season.

Ty Okada's Status & What That Could Mean For Quandre Diggs

After leaving last week's game with an oblique injury, Ty Okada did not practice on Wednesday and was a limited participant in Thursday and Friday's practice. With Julian Love still on injured reserve through this week, Seattle is limited at the safety position. Last week, D'Anthony Bell, who was named captain for this week's matchup, played in place of the injured Okada. Macdonald said Okada will be a game-time decision.

"Working through it still with Ty (Okada). It'll probably be a process even up to game time is a possibility. Positive, trending."

To give Seattle added depth, the team signed veteran Quandre Diggs to the practice squad on Wednesday.

"He's done a great job," Macdonald said. "Great having him here. Expectations of how he was going to operate is pretty much on point. So it's great to have him."

When asked if Diggs could be elevated for Sunday's game, Macdonald said, "It's a possibility."

Cam Akers First Week Of Practice

Along with Quandre Diggs, the Seahawks also made a handful of other roster moves that included signing running back Cam Akers. Akers spent part of last season with the Vikings and quarterback Sam Darnold.

"Cam's doing a nice job," Macdonald said." The runs he's got in practice, he's looked really good. Has a great attitude, practicing fast. [He's] done a nice job."

Akers provides depth for Seattle at running back with Holani being ruled out.

"We're working through it with George (Holani)," Macdonald said. He also mentioned needing to make a decision about injured reserve for Holani. "We'll make a decision with him pretty soon."

Seahawks vs. Rookie Max Brosmer

With the Vikings starting quarterback J.J. McCarthy still in concussion protocol, undrafted rookie Max Brosmer will get the start in his place. Coincidentally, Macdonald and Brosmer are alumni of the same high school, Centennial High School in Roswell, Georgia.

"He's got a really high academic pedigree," Macdonald joked. "He's played good football when he's been in there. He's been decisive, throws it one time, seems like he's really accurate. There's not a lot of plays, but you go back and look at the college stuff is also really impressive as well. He seems like a sharp guy and like they're excited about it."
