Phillip Dorsett II & Jamarco Jones Inactive For Seahawks at Falcons

Both Seahawks players listed as questionable for Sunday’s opener will not play.

The Seahawks will be without receiver Phillip Dorsett II and reserve offensive lineman Jamarco Jones for Sunday's season-opener at Atlanta. Both had been listed as questionable heading into the game, Dorsett due to a foot injury and Jones due to illness.

Tackle Cedric Ogbuehi was also ruled out on Friday due to a pectoral injury, and with him and Jones both out, the Seahawks activated tackle Chad Wheeler from the practice squad Saturday to provide depth behind starters Duane Brown and Brandon Shell.

Also inactive are a pair of rookies who enjoyed strong camps, running back DeeJay Dallas and defensive end Alton Robinson.

Dorsett had been the leading candidate for the No. 3 receiver job behind Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf prior to being slowed by the foot injury, but Seahawks coach Pete Carroll noted Friday that they still like their depth even without Dorsett.

"David (Moore) has been on it, this is the best David's ever been," Carroll said. "We'll play a lot of guys. Freddie Swain's done a nice job, we're anxious to see Freddie. We really won't have any hesitation playing Freddie."

In addition to Moore and Swain, also active at receiver is Penny Hart, who was recently promoted from the practice squad. And if you're wondering why the Seahawks only have six inactives today, it's a rule under the new CBA that allows teams to have up to 48 players active on gameday, provided at least eight are offensive linemen.

Here are the full inactive lists for both teams:

Seattle Seahawks

WR Phillip Dorsett II
RB DeeJay Dallas
LB D'Andre Walker
OT Jamarco Jones
OT Cedric Ogbuehi
DE Alton Robinson

Atlanta Falcons

CB Kendall Sheffield

The Seattle Seahawks have arrived in Atlanta as they prepare to take on the Falcons in Week 1 of the 2020 season.
