The NFC West title and the conference's No. 1 seed will be decided on Saturday night in Santa Clara when the Seahawks play the 49ers at 5 p.m. in a game televised on ABC and ESPN.
With the Seahawks and 49ers both winning their Week 17 games, it set up a winner-take-all Week 18 matchup between the two teams for both the division title and the conference's top seed, which comes with a first-round bye and homefield advantage. The loser of that game will still be in the playoffs but as a wild card team. Or, in the unlikely event of a tie, the Seahawks would come out on top in the division.
Had the 49ers lost to the Bears in their Sunday night shootout, the Rams, who play Monday night, would have still been alive for the division title and top seed, but they are now eliminated from contention for the division, though they have clinched a Wild Card berth.
The Seahawks and 49ers will play in one of two games on Saturday, with the other being an afternoon game between the Panthers and Buccaneers that will decide the NFC South title.
The other stand-alone Week 18 game will feature the Ravens and Steelers playing for the AFC North title on Sunday night.
