Twelve numbers that help tell the story of Monday night’s win over the Houston Texans.

The Seahawks beat the Texans on Monday night in a game that quarterback Sam Darnold aptly summed up by saying, "Oh man, what a weird game."

The Seahawks were great on defense, again, and on offense they were able to score 27 points, but they also turned the ball over four times, had a kick blocked, and committed numerous costly penalties.

In addition to the 27-19 final score, here are 12 numbers of note from Monday night's win, which gave the Seahawks a 5-2 record heading into their bye week:

27

Points scored by the Seahawks, the most by a Texans opponent this season, seven more than the next highest total. Prior to Monday, the Texans were allowing a league-best 12.2 points per game.

4

Turnovers committed by the Seahawks on offense, two interceptions (one was thrown by Cooper Kupp on a trick play) and two fumbles lost. It was Seattle's first game with four turnovers since a 2020 loss in Buffalo, and the first win with that many turnovers since a 2019 overtime win over the 49ers.

123

Yards on eight receptions for Jaxon Smith-Njigba, who leads the NFL with 819 yards through seven games.

5

100-yard games for Smith-Njigba this season through seven games, tied for the second most 100-yard games by a Seahawks pass catcher in a season. With one more 100-yard game, Smith-Njigba would tie Steve Largent (1979) for the most 100-yard games in a season in franchise history.

31

Rushing yards on 15 carries for Houston running backs. C.J. Stroud managed 25 yards on two scrambles late in the game, but otherwise the Texans were able to do very little against Seattle's run defense.

3

Interceptions this season for middle linebacker Ernest Jones IV after he picked off C.J. Stroud on Monday, a new single-season high for the fifth-year player. Jones, who also had a team-high 11 tackles, is one short of his career high in passes defensed with five.

71

Of 76 total defensive snaps played by rookie safety Nick Emmanwori, the second straight week that he has played nearly every defensive snap. As of now at least, it appears big nickel, with three safeties on the field, is Seattle's primary defense to maximize the talents of Emmanwori, who had two tackles and two passes defensed on Sunday.

254

Yards gained by the Texans, the fifth time in seven games the Seahawks have held an opposing offense under 300 yards.

3

Seahawks scoring drives, out of five total, that began in Texans territory, an indication of the big contributions made on defense and special teams to support the offensive effort.

12

Passes defensed recorded by Seahawks players, including a team-high three by linebacker Drake Thomas, and two each from Riq Woolen, Josh Jobe and Nick Emmanwori.

10

Texans possessions in which they gained one or zero first downs before Seattle's defense got a stop.

4

Third down conversions by both teams on a total of 29 third downs. The Texans finished 2 for 15, while the Seahawks were only slightly better at 2 for 14. The Seahawks did, however, convert on both fourth down attempts.
