Featuring postgame quotes from the following:

Head Coach Pete Carroll

Q. Give us your overall impressions. I know you haven't seen the film.

I've seen the film. Got that done just now. Have everything in this steel trap right now. Well, we started really poorly. We had a really hard time. The official got us five times that we assessed penalties, other ones they let us go. Miserable looking first quarter. We kind of hung in the game as far as trying to win the game. We didn't run the ball very well in the first half. We didn't do very much of anything very well. But we stayed close. It was the opportunity for us to face that up and then come on back and see what you can do in the second half to finish the game. It was a marvelous second half for our guys as a team. We did so many cool things that we weren't able to do. We ran the ball better. We protected the quarterback better. The quarterbacks made their throws, guys made their catches and gave us a chance to win the football game on the last play of the game. That's kind of all we can hope for. Bud Grant taught me that a long time ago. So winds up being a tie. Too bad. I thought Treven (Ma'ae) had two huge plays in the game. The big sack, but also he blocked a kick. Said he never blocked a kick in his life. Welcome to the NFL. Cam (Miller) and Shed (Shedrick Jackson) with his touchdown catch, gorgeous play. Our ability to keep coming back, keep coming back. The sidelines were electric. The guys understood what we were talking about. It just takes one play at the end if you can get it done. We got a chance to feel that. The most important thing that is we take that forward, that we know we ain't never done, it ain't ever over. We're going to keep hanging until we get a chance to win the game.

Q. Any update on Alex (Cappa)?

He is fine. He's had an ankle that's bothered him. He just wrenched it a bit and came back. He played after that. He's okay.

Q. (On the run defense)...

We made some really glaring errors. We made errors. Couple times when we were pressuring, we just didn't hit stuff clean enough. But as the game went on, we played way better. I thought they did a nice job running the football. I thought that was a really obvious part of their game. In the end we need to do better.

Q. Cam Miller gets in there for the first time, a couple scoring drives. Getting thrown into the fire the way he did, your thoughts?

We knew he would get the chance in the fourth quarter to do this. He did a terrific job. I'm so proud of him for hanging in there through all the situations. If you remember, it was almost like the mock game. Almost like that game. He kind of did the same thing there, too. Really credit to him, the guys that made the catches.

Q. 22 rookies on the field tonight. Is it good to get a lot of those guys (some playing time)...

It's hard to assess how valuable that is. Guys playing in their first NFL game, a nice crowd, all of that. Silent count the whole game for the offense. We hung together on the sidelines. Everybody kept fighting. You could feel the surge of the comeback. You could feel it occurring. That's really important for those guys to understand it. I feel kind of used to it, but it doesn't mean I don't enjoy it, man. That's as good as it gets right there.

Q. How does it feel to be back here from a different perspective?

I'm sorry to tell you it wasn't like something that was obvious. It's a football game. I've been fighting wars for other people my whole life, coaching. I mean, I was with my team and we were battling. It was cool to be here. I loved it here. I've always loved the whole experience that we had here all those years together and all of that. I don't forget that. I don't disrespect that one bit. But it didn't translate to something crazy to me. It was just an opportunity to play in a great setting. Thanks to the league for putting us in this game. When they figured it out, it was a good idea. A good one to look forward to. I thought we handled it all right.

Q. Was it weird at all at any moment?

No. There was a couple times when guys made plays. I'm looking at the screen in the end zone. I thought that was our guys making the play. That did happen a couple times (smiling).

Q. It's rare a defensive lineman gets called for two holding penalties on the same drive. Did you get any explanation?

I did. I didn't like it. It wasn't that the official didn't give him a warning, then he did it, he did it again. I wish he would have warned him a couple times, we would have got him out of the game, whatever we needed to do, told me about it. I got nothing. Those are big penalties in the game, really big penalties. Giving your opponent free yards, first downs, stuff like that. If you do that, it's really hard to win.

QB Geno Smith

Q. Something that you gleaned from the experience, getting out there with your teammates?

I think just calling plays in the huddle with the real crowd, having the clock, being up against the clock, all the mechanics it takes to go out there and execute and play football. I think those are the things we wanted to make sure we got done, and I thought we did.

Q. You were obviously cheering loud for Cam Miller. Afterwards, I saw you talking with him. What do you say to a rookie after his first pre-season game?

I was talking to him about now I feel like he can really get better because he's gotten game experience and he can go and watch that film. Took a couple hits. Just kind of get the NFL game, feel the speed of it. I know it's a preseason game, but it's still NFL football. Just for him, I thought he did a great job out there. Most importantly, I thought he was just able to go out there, get some reps, feel what it's like. He got some experience, and now he can get better from it.

Q. Obviously the fans tipped their hat to you, showed you appreciation. What did that mean to you?

It means everything to me. We all know about the 12s and how special they are. They're a big part of why the Seahawks are a really good team. For me just to be embraced by the fans, to see some of the children from the Children's Hospital that I went and visited, their parents, just to sign some autographs, shake some hands. It's always fun when you can go back to a place you loved. I thought it was really good for me and a great experience.

Q. How do you assess tonight's game?

I thought we started out really slow. That's kind of to be expected for a first preseason game. A lot of different rotations, a lot of different players in there. Guys got to get used to tackling and getting hit, just all the things that preseason brings. But I thought in that second half we played really inspired football. I saw Coach Carroll running up and down the sidelines out of his mind a little bit. I thought Cam (Miller) played well. I thought Aidan (O'Connell) played well in the second half. I thought our entire team really fought for it. To be a preseason game, guys were competing and trying to win. I thought that was pretty cool.

WR Shedrick Jackson

On how the play that resulted in his touchdown from Cam Miller developed

We just had a dump move called on that play, and I've practiced plenty of reps and know he likes to throw the ball deep and give his guys chances. So once I beat my guy, it was just about stacking them and winning and going to the ball.

On what he did to get so open

I just gave him a one-two at the top of the route, and he bit on it. We were running slants most of the game, and that's what he was reacting to, and once I gave him the one-two and he bit on it, I just took off.

On the personal value of scoring late in a tight game

I would say it's very valuable, to put on film, for everybody to see it, to know that I'm able to do things on the field for whatever team I'm on.

On the impact of rallying from a 13-point deficit

It gives us major energy, because this is the first time we're coming together as a group under Pete, with new energy. This has been fun. The energy's turned around. It's been a great atmosphere, and we love going to work every day, and today was just a result of all that work we put in.

RB Dylan Laube

On how this offseason has gone for him

Coming off year one, you don't know what to expect, and year two coming back here, I knew what to expect. I knew my role. I knew I had to earn a spot again. I put my head down and went.

On what his touchdown felt like

It was awesome. It was so much fun. I had so much fun out there and the whole team too, (they) were so excited for me, too. It was one of the best feelings that I've ever had so far.

On a new coaching staff

With Coach (Pete) Carroll, he says he wants everyone to set the tone and bring the juice every single day, and that was my role, to bring that juice every single day. Today, I brought the juice too. It's fun.

On the miscommunication on the punt return

This week we had a two-punt returner deal. It was new, and it was just bad communication, so I'll take that one right on the chin for myself. It sucks, but it happens, which we got a great bounce too. Right in the end zone so, thank God.

QB Aidan O'Connell

On how the game went

Not as good as I hoped it would. It's frustrating because I've had a good camp so far, so disappointed in how I played. Obviously, can't turn the ball over and have to stay ahead of the sticks to help the team and not turn the ball over.

On why his performance was different in comparison to camp

Obviously the goal is to find 4 (Shedrick Jackson) the first time. I was hoping to make a better impression in this first game but that's why we have next week, we'll come back, fix our mistakes, and get better.

On what he saw up front

I thought I could have done a better job at getting the ball out of my hands and staying ahead of the sticks. I was holding onto the ball too much, not helping the guys out so it was on me. Just have to do a better job, and the offensive line is working on that stuff. Have to get the ball out of my hands.

WR Tommy Mellott

On the chance to make plays in a competitive game

I'm used to playing in games like that, but I'm not used to it at that level. I was just excited to compete, very excited for the opportunity and love that I was able to get a few drives and get some momentum going. I was just super blessed to be out there.

On if he was preparing to play in the fourth quarter

I was preparing the entire game just in case something happened. We didn't really have a plan of when I was going to go in, I knew that I was going to get at least a drive. Always be ready and, I'm excited.

On how going on a silent count while on the road helps him grow

I think it's awesome for my growth. I had never used silent (count) in college. That was the first time, we used clap when it got loud, but I don't think that would have worked here.

DT Treven Ma'ae

On his goals for tonight

My goals for tonight were just to play fast, play physical, play violent and do my job.

On what happened on the blocked kick

That was my first blocked kick ever in my life, a true block. It's an amazing feeling. Going into it, coach told us in a meeting yesterday, 'We want to block some kicks.'

On communication with coaches before the blocked kick

Absolutely. For me, they ask me to jump, I want to see how high.

On if he felt like that was a play that needed a sack when he recorded a sack

I just want to get the ball back to the offense and let them do their thing.

On his overall evaluation of play today

I'm proud of what I put on today. There are things to clean up. Some plays I wish I could have back. I'm just proud of the finish.
