Wednesday Round-Up: DK Metcalf Gives Draft Prospects Advice On NFL Total Access

Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf joins the NFL Total Access crew to share Combine advice to draft prospects.

Good morning, 12s.

Here's a look at what's 'out there' for today – Wednesday, February 26 – about your Seattle Seahawks:

Paying It Forward

Roughly a year ago, Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf sat on the field in Lucas Oil Stadium sharing an emotional FaceTime conversation with his mother back in Oxford, Mississippi. Prior to that moment, 2019 second-round draft pick stunned the world clocking an impressive 4.33 in the 40-yard dash at the 2019 NFL Scouting Combine. For a wideout of his size, a time like that definitely turned some heads.

Fast forward one year to February 25 of 2020 and Metcalf joined NFL Total Access to be interviewed by co-host Lindsay Rhodes about his Combine experience.

Rhodes started off the interview by running back some of Metcalf's impressive stats from the Combine, including his 4.33 40-yard dash time, 27 bench reps, 40 ½" vertical, and 11' 2" broad jump. She continued by asking him what the most important thing is for a receiver to know who is transitioning into the NFL after having one professional season under his belt.

Metcalf humbly replied, "I mean Russ said it best when I first got there, just be professional about everything. It's a job now, so, it was my life. And I approached it that way. And have fun while doing it as well. You know, you're getting paid to play football, the game you love, so just take it day by day and continue to have fun and be professional with it."

The Seahawks WR then gave some advice to current draft prospects as they begin workouts at the 2020 NFL Scouting Combine.

"Don't think about anything, just go out there and just do it," said Metcalf. "Let the numbers take care of themselves. When that team calls your name to get drafted then, just go make a statement."

Social Post Of The Day

Today's 'Social Post of the Day' comes from Seahawks defensive end Jarran Reed, as he starts off the day with a humorous GIF shared on Twitter.

Seahawks general manager John Schneider and head coach Pete Carroll spoke with the media in Indianapolis on the first day of the NFL Scouting Combine.
