The Seahawks began their practice week Wednesday ahead of their Week 3 game against the Commanders, and quarterback Sam Darnold and running back Jadarian Price were both able to take the field with their team.

Darnold, who suffered a glute injury in the season opener that kept him out of last week's game, will ramp up in practice this week, head coach Mike Macdonald said. A decision on Darnold's availability for Sunday's game will be made later in the week.

"He'll practice today," Macdonald said. "He's not going to take every rep today, and then we'll ramp it up as the week goes.

"We'll make a decision at some point before Friday's over. I don't think we'd go into the weekend not knowing if he's going to play. It's on a good track right now, assuming today goes well."

Macdonald added that at this point the issue is less about Darnold suffering any sort of setback or making the injury worse, but rather, "It's a function at this point of, 'Does he feel good enough to play?'"

Macdonald also said that running back Jadarian Price will be on the field after exiting Sunday's win in Arizona early due to a shoulder injury.

"He'll practice this week," Macdonald said. "Today we'll see what capacity it is, but he'll be out there."

Safety Nick Emmanwori, who had ankle surgery prior to the start of camp, made his 2026 debut on Sunday, but was limited in his role, playing just nine snaps on defense. That should change this week as Emmanwori continues to work his way back after missing most of training camp and all of the preseason.

"It's significantly higher," Macdonald said when asked about the plan for Emmanwori's role this week. "We'll see how the game unfolds, see how he feels, but he'll be out there a good bit."

The Seahawks placed starting right guard Anthony Bradford on injured reserve on Wednesday, meaning he will miss at least four games, but Macdonald said Bradford should be able to make it back soon after those four weeks are up.

"Luckily AB is going to be able to make a full recovery and come back the best version of himself yet, hopefully," Macdonald said.

Running back Zach Charbonnet, who is on the physically unable to perform list, the result of the ACL injury he suffered in last season's divisional round win over the 49ers, cannot return to game action until after Seattle's Week 4 game against the Chargers, but Charbonnet is eligible to return to practice starting this week, however, Macdonald said Charbonnet won't practice this week.
