After a walkthrough a day earlier, the Seahawks were back to holding a full practice on Wednesday, which from a preparation standpoint, was like a normal Thursday as the Seahawks get ready for Saturday night's game against the 49ers.

And among those taking part in practice, Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald said, was receiver and Pro-Bowl returner Rashid Shaheed. Being on the practice field doesn't guarantee anything for Saturday's game for Shaheed, who exited Sunday's win in Carolina with a concussion, but it is at least a sign that he's moving through the concussion protocol.

"To my knowledge he's practicing today," Macdonald said. "In what capacity, I can't tell you, but he should be out there."

If Shaheed were unable to play, the Seahawks would be looking for players to step up at receiver as well as in the return game.

Asked what he would expect from players taking on bigger roles in that scenario, Macdonald said. "Come and play great football for us. I feel like we have a really deep receiving room and guys that have made plays in key moments, from training camp all the way until now. That's what we expect. We've got really good players."

Macdonald also gave a little more clarity on the injury to tackle Josh Jones, who played every snap in Sunday's game, but who was listed as a non-participant on Tuesday's estimated injury report due to knee and ankle injuries. Jones, who has been starting in place on an injured Charles Cross, is "just banged up a little bit" Macdonald said, and should be able to play Saturday.

"Josh can play, he's going to play," Macdonald said. "If Charles gets better and can play, he'll play. If not, we've got some other guys that can play."

Macdonald said Cross would not practice Wednesday, but did not rule out the possibility of him playing against the 49ers.

"Some things need to happen before he can play," Macdonald. "I'd say it's a non-zero chance that he plays, but we'll see."

Cross, who has missed two games with a hamstring injury, was one of two players to miss last week's game along with safety Coby Bryant, who has a knee injury.

Asked if Bryant was improving, Macdonald said, "Coby's getting better. He's not going to practice today, he did walkthrough. Again, we'll see. I know those guys are working like crazy, but we're going into a football Friday (on Thursday), he'll probably have to do something before the game goes."

The Seahawks and 49ers face off at Levi's Stadium for Week 18 on Saturday, January 3, 2026. Kickoff is set for 5:00 p.m. PT. Take a look back through history at the Seahawks' matchups against the 49ers.
