On Sunday, Tory Horton helped put the Seahawks on the board first with a 4-yard touchdown reception. Then in the second quarter, Horton scored his second touchdown of the game to put the Seahawks up 14-0.
He finished the game with four catches for 48 yards and two touchdowns. This is his second Rookie of the Week nomination, after being nominated in Week 3 following his 95-yard punt return. That punt return is the longest in franchise history and the first punt returned for a touchdown by the Seahawks since 2015.
After the game, receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba said, "We preach next man up, you know, step up. Make a play when your number is called, and Tory did that, and that's what we expect from him. You know, he's a big-time player, and he's going to make the most of his opportunity, so that's great to see him take another step forward this season. We're going to need him, you know, we're going to need him throughout the whole season, so I'm excited. He had a great game today."
