Good morning, 12s.

Here's a look at what's 'out there' for today – Thursday, August 15 – about your Seattle Seahawks:

Calling All 12s: Bleed for the Blue and Green

Here's your fun and impactful fact of the day—100 donors at a Bloodworks Northwest blood drive equates to approximately 300 lives being saved. On August 26, you have the opportunity to help the Seahawks and Bloodworks Northwest reach our goal of over 100 donors.

From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on that Monday, the Huddle for 100 Blood Drive will be taking place in the North Plaza of CenturyLink Field. Our partner will be providing three Bloodmobile vehicles in which volunteers can roll up their sleeves and save a life.

Seahawks Legends Sean Locklear and Ben Obomanu will be making special guest appearances at the event to cheer on the donors and let everyone know of the impact they're making. Seahawks mascot Blitz will be in attendance as well, I'm just wondering, is it possible for Blitz to donate blood? For a full and detailed schedule of the special guest appearances, follow this link to Bloodworks Northwest’s website.

The perks don't end there as all donors will receive automatic entry into a drawing for two tickets to a Seahawks home game, as well as 20% off regular-priced merchandise at the Pro Shop. I mean come on, there's really no reason not to come donate.

All of the minutes spent donating blood will be tracked and contribute to the team's overall Huddle for 100 minutes. "In honor of its 100th season, the NFL is inviting teams and their fans to participate in the Huddle for 100 campaign. The challenge is to collectively volunteer 100 million minutes of time and help shape what our community will look like for the next 100 years. Let's join our Seattle Seahawks and give back to our community through a lifesaving blood donation," reads Bloodworks’ event page.
