The Seahawks signed defensive tackle Gary Smith III to their practice squad on Tuesday.
Nose tackle Uso Seumalo was released to make room for Smith on the practice squad.
Smith, an undrafted rookie out of UCLA, initially signed with the Raiders after the draft, then was waived prior to the start of the regular season. He was an All-Big Ten Conference honorable mention selection as a senior after starting all 12 games, recording 40 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss and half a sack.
Smith started his college career at Duke, spending two seasons there and starting nine games in 2021. He then transferred to UCLA where he appeared in 19 games from 2022-2023 before missing the 2024 season due to injury.
