The Seahawks elevated a pair of practice squad players ahead of Sunday's game in New Orleans, adding linebackers Cullen Gillaspia and Christian Jones for their Week 5 game against the Saints.

Gillaspia, who signed to the practice squad last week, was also elevated for last week's game, playing 18 snaps on special teams.

Jones, a veteran linebacker who came into the league as an undrafted free agent in 2014, has appeared in 126 career games, starting 74. After spending his first four seasons in Chicago and the next three in Detroit, Jones returned to Chicago last season and appeared in 17 games, starting one while playing under then defensive coordinator Sean Desai, who is now Seattle's associate head coach-defense. Jones also has experience working with Seahawks defensive coordinator Clint Hurtt when the two were in Chicago together. Hurtt mentioned Jones this week as an option to provide depth at outside linebacker with Darryl Johnson going on injured reserve.

"He has background in the position and some position flex playing off the ball," Hurtt said. "So, Christian can help out again with the early down stuff."

Seahawks players and staff depart from the Virginia Mason Athletic Center and fly with Delta Air Lines to face the New Orleans Saints for Week 5 of the 2022 season.
