Seattle's game on Sunday, offensively, had a slow start, with the score being tied 3-3 going into halftime. After the break, the Seahawks got a well-needed spark to get the offense going.
On a first-and-10 play at the Carolina 20-yard line, DeMarcus Lawrence managed to punch the ball out of Panthers running back Chuba Hubbard 's hands.
"I literally seen it with my own eyes, seen him do it," Nick Emmanwori said. "So it kind of shocked me as a rookie, like a dude just makes it look that easy."
Following that turnover, it set the Seahawks offense up at the Carolina 21-yard line to score. On the drive, Seattle rushed the ball four times, including the touchdown run and quarterback Sam Darnold threw the ball twice. His first pass was a seven-yard reception by Jaxon Smith-Njigba. Darnold's second throw was a third-down conversion to AJ Barner for 16 yards.
"Huge, huge," Smith-Njigba said on the third-down conversion. "AJ Barner has been coming up clutch all year. We've got a lot of elite guys across the board, so it's awesome to use your playmakers to set up what's next."
The drive ended with a Zach Charbonnet touchdown, which marked Seattle's first touchdown of the game and one of Charbonnet's two touchdowns on the day.
Uchenna Nwosu said, "[DeMarcus Lawrence] shifted the tide. That punchout and fumble recovery turned the tide for the whole team. We went down got points, and from there we were able to make plays."
