NFL owners approved a resolution that will allow NFL players to participate in the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.

The resolution that was passed will allow up to one player from each of the 32 NFL teams to play and each team's designated international pathway player will be able to play for their country. Rosters will be chosen by each country's National Olympic Committee.

In 2023, the NFL added flag football to the Pro Bowl, giving some of the NFL's best players a taste of what it would be like to play flag football, and now they will have a chance to do it on the world's biggest stage. The NFL will now join the WNBA, NBA and NHL as major sports to allow Olympic competitors.

The 2028 Summer Olympics are set for July 14, 2028 and run through July 30, 2028.

Seahawks players and staff visited the Seattle Mariners' ballpark, T-Mobile Park, and took the field for batting practice on Monday, May 19, 2025.
