The Seahawks beat the Texans Monday night behind another strong defensive performance, and making the 27-19 victory all the more impressive is the fact that they put that performance together while once again playing without three key defensive players due to injury.

Cornerback Devon Witherspoon and safety Julian Love, who have three Pro-Bowl selections over the past two seasons between them, were out for the third straight game due to knee and hamstring injuries, respectively. Also sidelined was outside linebacker Derick Hall, who has missed the past two games with an oblique injury.

But with a bye week coming up, Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald said he is anticipating all three players returning to action when the Seahawks play the Washington Commanders in Week 9.

"We should get Julian and Spoon back, and D-Hall, after the bye, unless something changes," Macdonald said.

As for injuries in Monday's game, receiver and kick returner Dareke Young left with a hip injury and did not return to the game. Receiver Tory Horton limped off at one point with what Macdonald said was an ankle injury, but he was able to return to the game.
