PERSONAL: Attended Heritage High School in Wake Forest, N.C. Played middle linebacker and running back. Finished high school career as the school's all-time leading tackler with 393 stops (203 solo). Eclipsed the 100-tackle mark in each of his final three prep seasons. As a running back, totaled 139 career carries for 908 yards and 11 touchdowns. As a senior, racked up 123 tackles, three sacks and two interceptions. Rushed for 280 yards on 50 carries with seven touchdowns. Led team to North Carolina 4A state playoffs. Ranked as the No. 19 recruit in North Carolina and the No. 22 inside linebacker in the nation by Rivals.com. Also played high school baseball.
