Good morning, 12s.

Here's a look at what's 'out there' for today - Wednesday, January 9 - about your Seattle Seahawks:

Chris Carson: Top Value Performer

Seahawks running back Chris Carson, a seventh-round draft pick by Seattle in 2017, is one of five players nominated for 2018's Top Value Performer Award for his play this past season. According to Tuesday's press release from VIZIO, the honor recognizes the player "whose on-field performance most exceeds the value of his base salary."

Carson, who in 2018 became the Seahawks' first 1,000-yard rusher since 2014, ran for 1,151 yards and nine touchdowns for the Seahawks, pacing the club's rushing attack that averaged 160 yards per game, the most in the league.

"Chris Carson had a fantastic season for us," Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said Monday during his end-of-season press conference when discussing the impact Seattle's 2017 draft class had this past year. "What a player he is and what a contributor he is. What a great draft pick that was."

For this season's Top Value Performer Award, Carson is up against Cincinnati's Tyler Boyd, Detroit's Kenny Golladay, Denver's Phillip Lindsay, and Green Bay's Blake Martinez. Since the award's inception in 2007, one Seahawks player has taken home the honor, with quarterback Russell Wilson, a third-round draft pick by Seattle in 2012, winning in 2012 and 2013.

Fans can vote for Carson right here through 11:59 p.m. PT on Sunday, January 20.
