Wednesday Round-Up: Bobby Wagner Among NFL.com's 2017 'Predicted Stat Leaders'

Will Seahawks linebacker Bobby Wagner lead the NFL in tackles for the second consecutive season? NFL.com believes so.

Good afternoon, 12s.

Here's a look at what's "out there" for today — Wednesday, July 26 — about your Seattle Seahawks:

Will Wagner Take The NFL Tackle Crown Again?

Seahawks linebacker Bobby Wagner became the first player in franchise history to take home the NFL's tackle crown last season, and NFL.com's Gil Brandt believes the veteran could lead the league in the statistical category again in 2017.

As part of his 2017 stat leader predictions, Brandt has Wagner penciled to record the most tackles among defensive players with 165, only two short of the 167 he finished with last season. Brandt also considered Washington linebacker Zach Brown, Dallas' Sean Lee and Tampa Bay's Kwon Alexander when predicting the tackle crown leader.

Here's why he specifically selected the All-Pro Wagner:

Wagner has 645 career tackles in five seasons. He's reliable (eight games missed total) and plays every down. Wagner is very active and has a great ability to diagnose. He's also chipped in 14 sacks and five picks.
