Things To Know About the Seahawks' Week 14 Opponent, The Carolina Panthers

Learn more about the Carolina Panthers, who will visit Lumen Field on Sunday.

TTK week 14

The 7-5 Seahawks return home this weekend to face the 4-8 Carolina Panthers. Here are some things to know about this week's NFC opponent:

Sam Darnold: Back in the Driver's Seat

Fifth-year Panthers quarterback Sam Darnold helped Carolina to a 23-10 victory in Week 12, throwing for a touchdown in his first contest of the season.

After spending his first-three seasons with the New York Jets, the 2018 first round pick threw for over 2,500 yards and nine touchdowns in 2021 for Carolina.

Seattle will do its best to contain the dual-threat USC alum who rushed for five touchdowns in 2021.

D'Onta Foreman: Ready for Action

A nagging foot injury apparently won't sideline Panthers running back D'Onta Foreman for Sunday, whose name was not on Friday's injury report. The fifth-year Texas alum is just four yards away from surpassing his career-high of 566 rushing yards set in 2021. Averaging over 4 yards per carry while reaching the end zone four times, Foreman is a key factor in Carolina's backfield. In the Panthers' 23-10 victory over the Broncos, Foreman carried 24 times for 113 yards, his fourth 100-yard game of the year.

Moore or Less

Panthers wideout D.J. Moore has a chance to record his fourth-consecutive 1,000-yard season in 2022. Through 12 games, the University of Maryland alum has recorded 46 receptions for 605 yards and four touchdowns. It's a mark he's yet to eclipse, scoring four touchdowns in each season since 2019.

Jaycee Horn: Like Father Like Son

Panthers cornerback Jaycee Horn may not have developed his love for the wide receiver position that his father and New Orleans Saints Legend Joe Horn did, but he certainly inherited his football skills. The second-year former South Carolina Gamecock is becoming one of the league's scariest young corners in 2022 after playing just three games as a rookie due to injury (broken foot).

Through 10 contests, Horn has recorded 2 interceptions along with 38 tackles and 5 pass breakups. In addition, he hasn't allowed a touchdown.

Eddy Pineiro: High Percentage

Panthers kicker Eddy Pineiro is one of the league's most-prolific kickers through 12 games this season. At 22-24 on field goal attempts, Piniero is tied for No. 4 amongst all kickers currently at 91.7 (Seattle's Jason Myers leads the NFL at 95.8 percent).

In Week 12's 23-10 victory over the Broncos, Pineiro nailed three field goals and two point-after attempts to seal the win. Pineiro is currently 10-11 on attempts of 40 or more yards.

Questionable Panthers: Cory Littleton, Xavier Woods and Matt Ioannidis

Despite the expectation from Coach Steve Wilks that they will play Sunday, four key Panthers defenders are listed as questionable on Friday's injury report. Linebacker Cory Littleton (ankle), defensive tackle Matt Ioannidis (calf) safeties Myles Hartsfield (ankle) and Xavier Woods (knee) participated in Friday's practice, despite Littleton and Woods being limited.

The Seahawks got back to business with a practice on Thursday at the Virginia Mason Athletic Center in preparation for Week 14 vs. the Panthers. Seahawks practice photos are presented by Gatorade.
