RENTON, Wash. – The Seahawks announced today the 2025 Game Changers Program presented by BECU, a program that engages youth and teens through interactive leadership development activities and discussions. The Seahawks, Boys & Girls Clubs of King County and BECU will collaborate on the multi-week educational program aimed at inspiring the next generation of Game Changers in the community.

The Game Changers curriculum is designed and facilitated by RISE, a national nonprofit that educates and empowers the sports community to eliminate racial discrimination, champion social justice and improve race relations.

"Bringing RISE programming to the Seahawks Game Changers program, together with BECU, is a highlight of our year," said Andrew Mac Intosh, RISE Chief Program Officer. "This program aligns perfectly with our mission to empower young leaders like those from the Boys & Girls Clubs of King County as Game Changers and Champions of Change. We're excited to learn from them and support their growth as Game Changers throughout Seattle and King County."

Weekly discussion topics from the 2025 curriculum will include:

  • Session 1: Introduction to Game Changers
  • Session 2: Conflict Resolution
  • Session 3: Emotional Intelligence
  • Session 4: Sport as a Vehicle for Change
  • Session 5: Entrepreneurship + Empowerment
  • Session 6: Community Building: Build a Tower

"The Game Changers program has introduced a unique and engaging way for our teens to learn some of the vital skills that all young adults need," said Derrick Thomas, Teen Director for Boys & Girls Clubs of King County. "Every year it has been exciting to see how Seahawks Legends can impact the lives of our kids simply by sharing their stories and experiences, paired with the topics of each of our carefully curated sessions."

For the second year, the program will include a field trip to BECU's corporate headquarters in Tukwila, Wash. Youth will participate in a financial reality fair, where they will navigate different scenarios and make financial decisions to live within the means of a budget. BECU will also award two youth with $2,500 scholarships as part of the program.

"Building a strong financial foundation is critical as we look to empower the next generation of leaders in our communities," said Teran Evans, BECU vice president of brand strategy and affinity partnerships. "With the Seattle Seahawks Game Changers program, we're helping kids explore real world money decisions in a safe, supportive environment before they grow up to make these decisions as adults."

"We've seen the incredible impact the Game Changers program has had over the years to encourage and build confidence in youth," said Mario Bailey, Seahawks Vice President of Community Outreach and Legends. "We are proud to partner with BECU, RISE and Boys & Girls Clubs of King County to bring this program to youth in our community for another year."

The program will conclude with a special Seahawks gameday experience for participants at the Seahawks vs. Arizona Cardinals game on November 9, as well as a special post-program teen night.
