The Seahawks waived cornerback Sidney Jones IV on Tuesday. Jones, who was acquired in a trade last year, and started 11 games for Seattle.
He opened camp competing for a starting job, but a concussion sidelined him for a long stretch of training camp and the preseason, during which rookie Tariq Woolen and Mike Jackson took over the starting spots.
The Seahawks recently had second-year corner Tre Brown return to practice from the physically unable to perform list last week, adding even more depth at corner.
