The Seahawks will take part in one joint practice with the Green Bay Packers ahead of those two teams' preseason game in August, marking the second consecutive year the Seahawks have taken part in joint practices under head coach Mike Macdonald.
After opening preseason play with two straight home games, the Seahawks will head to Green Bay where they will practice with the Packers on August 21 ahead of their preseason contest at Lambeau Field two days later.
Last season, the Seahawks took part in two days of joint practices with the Titans in Nashville, an experience Macdonald liked for his team, both because of the chance to compete against an opponent in a more controlled environment than a game, and because of the team-bonding opportunity it gave the team in its first year under a new coaching staff.
After a few days in Nashville last season, Macdonald called the experience an “overall net positive” for his TEAM, adding. "I felt like we got great work with all ones, twos and threes, and special teams. Great to go against somebody else, like you said. And then, it's cool just to spend time with one another… Net positive for the whole week."
Players enjoyed the experience as well, with safety Julian Love saying, "It's a great change up. It kind of breaks the monotony of training camp, going against your own guys, you kind of know their style, so you're more so playing to the person as opposed to the scheme. So just seeing new looks, new things, new cadences, I think that's super important."
