The Seahawks added another fullback to their roster on Thursday, signing Wesley Steiner, an undrafted rookie out of Washington State.

Linebacker Michael Dowell was waived to make room on the 90-man roster.

Steiner, who spent three seasons at Auburn before transferring to Washington State, played linebacker in college, but will be a fullback in Seattle. Steiner signed with the Raiders as a linebacker in May after going undrafted following one season with the Cougars, then was waived later that month.

Steiner, who is 6-foot, 235 pounds, gives the Seahawks another fullback behind rookie Robbie Ouzts, the presumed starter, and Brady Russell, who has been splitting time between tight end and fullback. While he is new to playing fullback, Steiner brings a lot of athletic upside to the position, having run a 4.39 second 40-yard dash at Auburn's pro day this spring while also turning in impressive marks in the vertical leap (39 inches) and broad jump (11-feet, 3-inches).
