Kirkland, Wash. - The Seattle Seahawks have released defensive tackle Kelly Talavou and wide receiver Travis Brown, the team announced today.
Filling their spots on the roster are defensive tackle Kevin Brown and wide receiver Joel Filani. Brown signed after a minicamp tryout with the team this past weekend and Filani was originally a sixth-round selection (188th overall) by the Tennessee Titans in the 2007 NFL Draft who most recently spent time with the Minnesota Vikings.
Additionally, guard Rob Sims will undergo right knee arthroscopic surgery tomorrow at the Seattle Surgery Center. The operation will be performed by Dr. Ed Khalfayan, assisted by Dr. Mike McAdam.
