The Seahawks re-signed receiver Cody White on Wednesday, retaining a key special teamer and a receiver capable of making big plays when needed.
White, who got his start in the league as an undrafted free agent, bounced around between a few teams, the Kansas City Chiefs, New York Giants, and the Denver Broncos, before signing to the Pittsburgh Steelers' practice squad.
In 2021-22, his two seasons with the Steelers, White appeared in 16 games.
After the Steelers waived him, he signed with Seattle's practice squad in October 2023, and he was signed to Seattle's active roster in November 2024. He played in four games that season, mostly on special teams, where he blocked a punt vs. the Los Angeles Rams.
To start the 2025 season, White made the initial 53-man roster for the first time in his career.
He was ultimately released and signed back to Seattle's practice squad and re-signed to the active roster a few times throughout the season. He played in 10 games and accounted for three receptions for 90 yards as well as one touchdown.
He also saw some action on special teams, returning four kicks for 106 yards for Seattle.
After suffering a groin injury in Week 17, White was placed on injured reserve, ending his season.
"Any opportunity that I'm able to get, especially coming off injury is truly a blessing," White said on re-signing with Seattle. "I am so excited to be back in Seattle and then being back close to 100 percent, getting back ready for OTAs. It's going to be exciting."
He added, "I bounced around from a bunch of different teams, not knowing if I'd be able to stick or not and finally finding a home in Seattle. It's been amazing for me."
And like many other players have expressed, his mind is set on one objective.
"Going back for another Super Bowl," he said. "That's the only thing, the only mission, the only goal."
