Seahawks Kicker Steven Hauschka Hits Penalty Kick in Charity Soccer Match

Seahawks kicker Steven Hauschka suited up for a charity soccer match Sunday with former Seattle Sounders FC standout Steve Zakuani.

Steven Hauschka has become a fan favorite in Seattle for the way he kicks a football, but soccer was the first sport the eight-year NFL veteran ever played, starting when he was just three years old, "maybe earlier."

"It was the first sport I played and my favorite sport until I started playing football," Hauschka told Seahawks.com last year. "And I still do love the game a lot."

Hauschka restored his passion for soccer this past weekend at Starfire Sports in Tukwila, taking part in the second annual 'Zakuani And Friends Charity Game' put on by former Seattle Sounders FC standout Steve Zakuani for his Kingdom Hope non-profit organization

Hauschka and Zakuani were joined by former U.S. stars Landon Donovan and Eddie Johnson, Sounders FC's Brad Evans, as well as other former players, soccer coaches, analysts, fans, and more on Sunday, when Hauschka put his powerful right leg on display during a penalty kick in the 57th minute.

The Seahawks kicker started by lining up his attempt in the same fashion as prior to a place kick in the NFL and proceeded to rocket a shot in the upper right-hand corner of the net, evening the match at 5-5 as the in-stadium announcer shouted out "Steven!" and the Starfire crowd reacted with "Hauschka!"

The full video from the 'Zakuani And Friends Charity Game' can be found right here, with Hauschka's scoring strike coming around the 1-hour, 15-minute mark.
