GLENDALE, Ariz. -- The Seahawks rolled to a decisive 31-7 victory over the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, and if a big win wasn't enough good news, head coach Mike Macdonald also provided positive updates on the injury front after the win.

Rookie running back Jadarian Price, who exited in the fourth quarter with a chest injury, underwent X-rays after the game, which came back negative.

"X-ray came back negative, so we'll take it from there," Macdonald said.

Macdonald also provided an update on quarterback Sam Darnold, who missed the game due a glute injury he suffered in the season opener.

Asked about the plan for Darnold this week, Macdonald said, "We're optimistic, we'll see. I think there's a chance he comes back and practices at some point (this week). The timetable has shifted quite drastically, frankly, in what is it, 10 days or whatever. So we've got three more days, 30 percent of that time, to kind of see where it's going between now and Wednesday."

Asked to clarify that the timetable shifting dramatically was in a positive direction, Macdonald confirmed that it was.

Price was one of two players to exit the game early with an injury along with nose tackle Brandon Pili, who left without returning in the first half with a concussion. Running back George Holani also briefly left the game to be evaluated in the fourth quarter, but Macdonald said he was cleared to return.

The Seahawks had two players return from injury after missing the opener, safety Nick Emmanwori and receiver Tory Horton. Emmanwori, who developed into an every-down player last season, only played a handful of snaps in what was his first game action since having ankle surgery prior to training camp. Macdonald said Emmanwori could have played more, but given the time he missed, the Seahawks wanted to ease the safety back into action.

"It was great," Macdonald said. "We had a plan for him to come back. He was able to play more plays, but the way we wanted to play him -- I think it came out to like, six or eight plays -- it was great for him to get the confidence back, get him moving, he got a couple of rushes in, which was cool. We should be really accelerating it into next week."
