Seahawks Extend President of Football Operations/General Manager John Schneider Through 2031

John Schneider Extended 16x9 (1)

Renton, Wash. – The Seahawks signed President of Football Operations/General Manager John Schneider to a contract extension through 2031, the team announced this afternoon. Schneider was hired on January 19, 2010, and enters his 16th season with the franchise in 2025.

"The extension of General Manager John Schneider's contract is a testament to his 15-plus years of football leadership and success," said Jody Allen, chair of the Seattle Seahawks. "I am confident that John will continue to deliver real results and a continued strong partnership with head coach Mike Macdonald that is already contributing to our winning culture on and off the field."

During his tenure, the Seahawks have compiled the sixth-best record in the NFL since 2010 with a 147-96-1 mark, and is one of seven teams to win at least 140 games over that span. The club posted 10-plus wins in five-consecutive seasons (2012-16) for the first time in franchise history, including nine of the last 13 seasons, won five NFC West Division titles and the franchise's first Super Bowl title in 2013.

Schneider's rosters have included 15 first-team AP All-Pro selections since 2012, and without a Pro Bowler selection on the roster from 2009-10, he has seen 32 different players selected from 2011-24.

Head Coach Mike Macdonald is signed through the 2029 season.
