Seahawks Announce Week Nine CenturyLink High School Athlete Of The Week

Karen Sullivan of Tahoma High School will be recognized at CenturyLink Field during the December 2 game vs. the 49ers.

SEATTLE and RENTON, Wash. - The Seattle Seahawks, CenturyLink, Inc. (NYSE: CTL) and KIRO Radio announced Karen Sullivan of Tahoma High School as week nine CenturyLink High School Athlete of the Week. Karen will be recognized on the field at CenturyLink Field during the December 2 game vs. the 49ers.

Karen, a senior basketball player at Tahoma High School has been selected Athlete of the Week based on her leadership through athletics, academics and community action. Karen is captain of Tahoma's basketball team and recognized on and off the court as being tenacious, ambitious and compassionate. At Tahoma High, Karen is senior class treasurer, maintains a 3.99 GPA and is a member of the National Honor Society. She is enrolled in numerous AP classes and recently received an AP Scholar Award for her outstanding college-level achievements. During her free time, Karen is dedicated to preparing for her eventual plans to study business in college. She is president of her school's Future Business Leaders of America association and vice president of the Gender Empowerment and Equality group, as well as a recent attendee of the University of Washington's Foster School of Business Women's Leadership Summit. Within the community, Karen volunteers at the Maple Valley Food Bank, police fundraisers and her local church. After graduation, Karen aspires to attend the University of Washington.

Each student athlete will be recognized at his or her school in front of families, peers and teachers, as well as at a Seahawks game. Each winner will also receive a $1,000 grant to their school's Athletic Department from the Seahawks along with media recognition, tickets and sideline passes to a Seahawks game, a customized football, and a customized 2018 Seahawks jersey. A total of $10,000 will be awarded to high schools over the course of the season.
