Seahawks Announce the Week Five CenturyLink High School Athlete of the Week

Cassidy Gates of Omak High School is the week five CenturyLink High School Athlete of the Week.

SEATTLE and RENTON, Wash. - The Seattle Seahawks, CenturyLink, Inc. (NYSE: CTL), Q13 FOX (KCPQ), and Sports Authority announced today Cassidy Gates of Omak High School as the week five CenturyLink High School Athlete of the Week. Cassidy will be at CenturyLink Field during the October 18 game against the Carolina Panthers.

Cassidy, a sophomore at Omak High School, was selected to be the Athlete of the Week based on her dedication to academics, community involvement, leadership, and athletic performance. In the classroom, Cassidy has earned a 3.83 GPA. She spends time helping run a food kitchen for the homeless through her church youth group. Cassidy is also involved in an academic scholarship program through Washington State University in which she provides community service to the elderly in her community. Her love of soccer has led her not only to become a talented player, but also share her knowledge of the game through refereeing youth soccer matches.

As the CenturyLink High School Athlete of the Week, the student-athlete will also be recognized at their school in front of their family, peers and teachers. They will also receive a $1,200 gift card supported by Sports Authority from CenturyLink and the Seahawks for their school's ASB fund, in addition to media recognition, tickets and sideline passes to a Seahawks game, and a customized Nike Seahawks jersey.
