On Sunday, Nick Emmanwori, who has been a do-it-all player for Seattle's defense in just his first year, had his best game this season vs. the Atlanta Falcons.
During the game, Emmanwori came close to blocking Atlanta's first field goal attempt of the game, nearly getting a piece of the ball. But it wasn't until the second quarter when Emmanwori's athleticism was on full display as he raced to block a 50-yard field goal attempt. He was able to get one hand on the ball to keep the score tied at 3-3.
Along with the blocked punt, he had six tackles, two tackles for loss, a sack, a pass defensed, and he also came away with his first career interception.
For the performance he put together, Emmanwori received a game ball after the game.
"Tremendous game," head coach Mike Macdonald said. "We gave out some game balls, and he got one of the game balls. I'm really happy for him. He's worked his tail off. He really has. He does it every day. He's a tremendous asset for us. Obviously when we're utilizing him, when we're playing him against 13 personnel in the area, he's throwing his stuff in there. I'm happy for him, and he's got a great attitude. Happy for him. He deserves it."
Safety Julian Love said, "He's definitely special. He's capable of doing a lot of things. He's around the ball, he can blitz, he can cover, he can do all the things. This won't be the last time this happens. Nick's a special guy. We love him. He works hard."
