Seattle Mayor Jenny A. Durkan announced on Monday that anyone who lives or works in King County can now get a COVID-19 vaccine at Lumen Field, as well as Seattle's Rainier Beach and West Seattle vaccine sites, without an appointment.

While appointments are still available and are recommended, they are no longer required for those seeking a first or second dose.

"Seattle is making it easier than ever to quickly and easily get vaccinated. As of today, nearly 70 percent of eligible Seattleites have begun their vaccination progress. This is an incredible milestone, and if we continue this effort, we'll reach a level of community protection where so many of us – particularly our most vulnerable – will be protected from the most serious effects of this virus," said Mayor Durkan. "We've reached a turning point in our vaccination efforts: Now anyone who wants a vaccination in Seattle and King County can get one. If you have already been vaccinated, be a good neighbor and help your friends, family, neighbors, and coworkers get vaccinated. It's up to all of us to defeat this pandemic."

Patients who receive their first dose of the Moderna or Pfizer vaccine will be scheduled for their second dose once they register at the vaccination site. Patients who receive their second dose must provide proof of immunization via their vaccine card or immunization record. Patients can access their information at https://myirmobile.com. The Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines are only for patients 18 years-old or older, and the Pfizer vaccine is only for patients 16 years-old or older. The vaccines are not interchangeable. Patients must follow Centers for Disease Control & Prevention timing guidance when seeking their second dose.

The address and hours of operation at these three City vaccination sites are as follows:

  • Lumen Field Event Center: 330 S Royal Brougham Way, Seattle, WA 98134; Thursday and Saturday this week, 11:15 a.m. – 5:45 p.m; Wednesday and Saturday next week.
  • Rainier Beach Vaccination Hub: 8702 Seward Park Ave S, Seattle, WA 98118; Monday – Saturday, 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. On Tuesday, May 4, this hub will be open until 7:30 p.m.
  • West Seattle Vaccination Hub: 2801 SW Thistle St., Seattle, WA 98126; Monday – Saturday, 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. On Wednesday, May 5, this hub will be open until 7:30 p.m.

"We've said since the beginning that help is on the way, and it is here now. Now that we have the supply, getting a vaccine has never been easier," said Calvin W. Goings, Director of the City's Department of Finance and Administrative Services, which, with Swedish, operates the Community Vaccination Site at the Lumen Field Event Center and has provided more than 75,000 vaccines since opening in mid-March. "The key is: please don't wait. Get your vaccine today. Every day you wait is a day you are vulnerable to catching and spreading this virus to a family member, friend or colleague, and the only way we will get on the other side of this virus is together—with all of us doing our part."

"As we continue to see cases of COVID-19 in our region, it has become even more important to remove any barriers for accessing a vaccine. We have enough supply to now allow anyone 16+ to get vaccinated at our two Seattle Fire operated vaccination hubs in Rainier Beach and West Seattle without an appointment. And starting on Wednesday, May 5, we will offer all three vaccines at our sites and give the person getting vaccinated the option to choose between Moderna,PfizerorJohnson & Johnson," said Fire Chief Harold Scoggins.

In addition, the Seattle Fire Department is piloting evening hours at the Rainier Beach and West Seattle Vaccination Hubs. On Tuesday, May 4, the Rainier Beach hub will remain open until 7:30 p.m., and on Wednesday, May 5, the West Seattle hub will remain open until 7:30 p.m. Vaccinations without an appointment are also available during evening hours.
