INDIANAPOLIS—During the NFL Scouting Combine, general managers, coaches, scouts and NFL agents are all in one spot, making it the perfect opportunity for face to face interaction. Yes, it's about prospects, but it's also about feeling out the future of the Seahawks roster, as president of football operations/general manager John Schneider gauges interest of Seattle's impending free agents. Schneider, like head coach Mike Macdonald has said, plans to have as much continuity as possible.

Trying to duplicate this season and keep as much of the roster the same.

After a Super Bowl winning season, the overall idea is to try to keep "continuity." But with players possibly looking for larger contracts after a stellar season, that may be more difficult to do. The first step in continuity was hiring a new offensive coordinator in Brian Fleury.

"It's challenging. It really is a challenge," Schneider said about trying to keep continuity in coaching. "We saw all the change this year. There was more change in the league than I think a lot of us anticipated. So it's how do you identify those core coaches on your staff, especially offensively, when you have a defensive minded head coach. We're identifying people that all fit into a puzzle and can try to sustain that consistency. And it's different, it's different at every club."

While the Seahawks were able to figure out their puzzle at offensive coordinator, they are going to try to also sustain the team connectedness that a lot of players credited the season's success to.

"I think it starts with our head coach, it starts with our strength and conditioning guys, the coaching staff, and then the players loving on each other and wanting to play for each other," he said. "[This is] the ultimate team sport. It's the coolest thing going. Obviously, we're a little biased here at the Combine, but it's literally like, playing for each other. I just think working with Stephen Hauschka, Mike Gervais last year really emphasizing the connectedness was a really cool lesson in team building."

And Schneider said he doesn't think it will be difficult to recreate.

"In the locker room, the parade, they were all just like talking about next year," he said. "It's just cool. There's a great mix of veteran leadership. Dogs, young dogs, athletes, speed, that are willing to buy into their development and coaches."

The accelerated offseason timeline.

This time last year, the Seahawks were about seven weeks into their offseason planning when they made their way to Indianapolis for the NFL Scouting Combine, and this year, they are dealing with a shorter timeline because of their Super Bowl run. For the Seahawks scouts, this didn't change much, except for the accelerated timeline, but Schneider in some ways, is still catching up on "studying."

"Nolan Teasley, Trent Kirchner, Matt Berry, Aaron Hineline, Willie (Schneider), those guys, everybody's just been killing it. And so now it's really going to be about my private time, like the studying and getting caught up with that. But free agency, we had great free agency meetings during the season. So, we'll learn a lot about what's going on down here this week. But the timeline part is real. It's like, the discipline on the weekends to try to figure out how to get caught up. And we'll get through it."

John Schndeider's impressions of Brian Fleury.

Last week, the Seahawks introduced their new offensive coordinator, Brain Fleury, whose goal is to "keep as much as we can the same" when it comes to the offense.

On Fleury, Schneider said, "Big brain, adaptable. Knows exactly what he wants. Felt like he knew what he was looking for, looking at when he was talking about our team and where we are offensively."
