C Jalen Sundell & TE Eric Saubert Designated For Return To Practice

Seahawks center Jalen Sundell and tight end Eric Saubert are returning to practice this week.

Seahawks center Jalen Sundell and tight end Eric Saubert have both been designated for return ahead of Wednesday's practice.

Both players have been on injured reserve, Sundell for the past four games due to a knee injury, and Saubert for the last six games due to a calf injury.

Saubert and Sundell do not count towards the 53-man roster limit, but will have to be added to the roster before they can return to game action. They can practice for up to 21 days without counting toward the roster, at which point they need to either be activated to the 53-man roster or remain on injured reserve for the remainder of the season.

If Saubert is ready to play this week, he would give the Seahawks some potentially needed tight end depth with rookie Elijah Arroyo dealing with a knee injury. Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald said Monday that they were still working through the specifics of Arroyo's injury, but that "this week's probably in jeopardy for him."
