Learn more about Seattle’s Week 13 opponent, the Los Angeles Rams.

ttk dec 2

The 6-5 Seahawks head back on the road in Week 13 to face the 3-8 Los Angeles Rams. Here are some things to know about this week's divisional opponent.

Cam Akers: Full Speed Ahead

Rams third-year running back Cam Akers is currently the team's leading rusher following the release of Darrell Henderson Jr. Through nine games played, Akers has rushed for 274 yards on 84 carries. The Florida State alum is looking for his first score of the season - and first 100-yard game. On the season, Akers has surpassed 50 yards on the ground twice.

After battling illness early this week, Akers is set to take the field in Sunday's matchup.

Cooper Kupp: Pride of Washington Unavailable This Week

Yakima native Cooper Kupp achieved the wideout holy trinity in 2021, earning the triple crown (receptions, yards and touchdowns leader) along with a Super Bowl LVI MVP. Kupp is approaching his second-consecutive 1000-yard season, putting up 75 receptions for 812 yards and 6 touchdowns through 9 games played.

Bryce Perkins: Dual Threat

On Friday afternoon, Rams Coach Sean McVay announced that quarterback John Wolford would get the start - but second-year quarterback Bryce Perkins would be available.

The second-year Virginia alum has been under center for the Rams for the last three weeks, as the team went winless in the span. Used as a dual-threat quarterback tailor-made to beat teams in the read option with his legs, Perkins is currently averaging over 5 yards per carry on 17 attempts (87 yards). In Week 12's 26-10 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, Perkins threw his first career touchdown.

Seattle will look to find the backfield after struggling to bring down Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Derek Carr in Week 12. Perkins has been sacked three times in each of his last two games.

John Wolford: Familiar Foe

It's deja vu in Seattle, as the Rams announce third-year Wake Forest alum John Wolford as their starting quarterback. Wolford started the 2020 NFC Wild Card game at Lumen Field for the Rams, in which Los Angeles defeated the Seahawks 30-20.

In Wolford's lone start this season against the Cardinals, Wolford went 24-36 for 212 yards and his first-career passing touchdown.

Nick Scott: All Around The Ball

Fourth-year safety Nick Scott currently leads the Rams in interceptions with two, along with 57 combined tackles, 4 pass deflections and 2 forced fumbles.

The Penn State alum showcased his versatility in Week 12's 26-10 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, laying out receivers and nabbing an endzone interception on quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

Major Rams Inactives: Aaron Donald, Matthew Stafford, A'Shawn Robinson, Cooper Kupp

As the Rams continue the fight to get healthy through the home stretch of the season, they'll be without their two biggest names. Quarterback Matthew Stafford will not play due to a neck injury; defensive tackle Aaron Donald will remain sidelined this week due to a hobbled ankle.

Stafford cleared concussion protocols this week, good news for the team as Stafford has been evaluated after several hits this season. In Week 11 against the New Orleans Saints, Stafford took his most-recent hit in question. But the team is holding the Georgia alum out as they get more insight into his neck injury. Coach Sean McVay discussed the matter with local media this week.

"I think there's so many layers to [that decision]," McVay said. "There's so much thought and dialogue that goes into it, but I think first and foremost it's got to get cleared from the medical experts. ... I'm not the expert in that arena, but if there's any sort of sense of, this is something that it'll be better served in the long term or it's going to be a few more weeks, things like that, I think that'll end up kind of taking care of itself."

Los Angeles will be without Super Bowl LVI Champion and Captain defensive tackle Aaron Donald. The ninth-year Pitt alum is tied for team leader in sacks (5), along with 49 combined tackles, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. In Week 3's 20-12 win over the Arizona Cardinals, Donald joined the 100-sack club.

Alabama alum defensive tackle A’Shawn Robinson is out for the season with a torn meniscus in his knee. In 10 starts, Robinson has accounted for 42 tackles, sixth-best on the team. The seventh-year man's presence on the inside will be missed for Los Angeles against a Seattle backfield looking to bounce back from last week's performance.

As mentioned above, Kupp is also on injured reserve with an ankle injury.

The Seahawks were hard at work on Thursday at the Virginia Mason Athletic Center in preparation for Week 13 vs. the Rams. Seahawks practice photos are presented by Gatorade.
