With three players ruled out and none listed as questionable or doubtful ahead of Sunday's opener against the 49ers, there was no mystery about who was available for the Seahawks from an injury standpoint.
There was, however, a bit of intrigue about whether or not the Seahawks would have three quarterbacks active for Sunday's game in order to possibly use rookie Jalen Milroe in some special packages.
And Milroe is indeed active, along with starter Sam Darnold and backup Drew Lock, indicating the third-round pick out of Alabama could have a role of some sorts.
Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald did not want to say on Friday whether or not Milroe would be active, but did say when asked about the rookie, "He's on his way. The spirit, the person, the work ethic, the talent, all those things, love it. He's going through the process of becoming an NFL quarterback. Until those responsibilities are earned, we're going to be doing the things that he's great at right now and can help the team right now. That was the initial vision and that's what we're sticking to."
In addition to the three players ruled out due to injury, outside linebacker Uchenna Nwosu (knee), receiver Jake Bobo (concussion) and receiver Dareke Young (concussion), the Seahawks have four rookies inactive: tackle/guard Mason Richman, tight end Nick Kallerup, outside linebacker Jared Ivey and outside linebacker Connor O'Toole.
Among those active are two players elevated from the practice squad Saturday, cornerback Shaquill Griffin and defensive tackle Quinton Bohanna.
For the 49ers, the biggest news of the day is that running back Christian McCaffrey is active after missing practice Friday due to a calf injury that had him listed as questionable on the final injury report. Running back Jordan James (finger) and receiver Jordan Watkins (ankle) are inactive due to injury for the 49ers.
