Zach Charbonnet & Anthony Bradford's Potential Return & Other Seahawks Injury Updates

Injury updates from Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald’s Monday press conference.

The Seahawks should have some significant reinforcements coming on offense soon, and perhaps for Sunday night's game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Right guard Anthony Bradford, who has missed five games dealing with knee and hip injuries, returned to practice on Monday, and if the practice week goes well, he will be activated from injured reserve and play on Sunday, Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald said.

"I know normally I'm pretty coy on this one, but it's pretty straightforward, if he has a good week, he's going to play a significant amount, if not the whole game," Macdonald said. "It's exciting, I'm really happy for AB. The way he's approached this injury—I think he's a better version of himself than he was before he got injured. That just speaks to his work ethic and his positive mentality, which is really, really cool. AB has played really good football for us, he's a physical presence for us at right guard, both in run and pass, so we're excited to possibly get him back."

Asked about how Bradford has handled the injury to be "a better version of himself" Macdonald said, "Normally if guy is forced to go on IR, and it's a bummer, and it is for AB, you can sense there's frustration there because he wants to be healthy and he wants to be playing great football," Macdonald said. "But there's a way you can approach that too, and the way he's approached it with positivity and energy, he's been a sense of strength for the guys rather than someone that has to deal with an injury. I'm really impressed with how he's handled everything."

Also potentially making it back this week is running back Zach Charbonnet who is making his way back from the torn ACL he suffered in Seattle's divisional round win over the 49ers. Charbonnet returned to practice earlier this month, and could make his 2026 debut on Sunday, Macdonald said.

"Zach is going to have a full week's worth of reps, so that's exciting, and there's a possibility that you could see him on Sunday in some capacity, so that's exciting," Macdonald said.

Whether or not Charbonnet plays on Sunday, the fact that it is even a possibility eight months after a significant knee operation is a pretty impressive feat.

"It's remarkable," Macdonald said. "I know he's had a certain date in mind, which is a really ambitious date. Those who have tried to come back from a significant knee surgery understand the undertaking that it takes. Zach's a beast. He looks great. It's not easy to say, 'All right, let's go.' So for him to have that courage to say that and work through the things he's worked through, you can't do anything but tip your cap to him."

On a less positive note, the Seahawks will be without tight end Elijah Arroyo for what Macdonald described as a significant amount of time, the result of a shoulder injury sustained in Thursday's loss at Denver. Macdonald said they are still finalizing some things before a decision is made on whether or not Arroyo goes on injured reserve.

"Elijah, he's going to be out a significant amount of time," he said. "How long that is, I'm not sure."

On linebacker Drake Thomas, who missed last week's game with an ankle injury, Macdonald said, "He's doing well. No update for Drake, but we'll see on Wednesday."

Macdonald also did not have a timeline for rookie running back Jadarian Price's return. Price, who went on injured reserve earlier this season, will be eligible to return after Sunday's game against Kansas City.

"No update on JD," Macdonald said. "We've got one more game, then we'll go from there. No update on JD, he's doing well though."
