Wednesday Round-Up: 'The Story of Jaron Brown' Mini-Documentary

Seahawks wide receiver Jaron Brown recently dropped a mini-documentary about the story of his life as a military brat making it to the NFL.

Good morning, 12s.

Here's a look at what's 'out there' for today – Wednesday, November 20 – about your Seattle Seahawks:

Military Brat To The NFL

It's not uncommon to see Seahawks wide receiver Jaron Brown run a route into the end zone and catch a touchdown pass from quarterback Russell Wilson. The path that you may not know as much about, however, is how Brown made his way growing up as a military brat, to the National Football League.

The two-year Seahawks wideout released an eight-minute mini-documentary on November 10th that dives into the stories of his past. Brown is the son of a 20-year US Navy veteran who spent most of his youth living on military bases. Originally born in Puerto Rico, Brown moved all over the world as he grew up, living in places like Naples, Italy, and South Carolina.

As described in the doc's description on YouTube, "Jaron shares his story to better leverage his opportunity to give back, inspire, motivate, and open up his heart and ears to military brats everywhere. This short film aims to help military brats know that they're not alone and to overcome the unique struggles that they face and pursue their dreams the same way that Jaron Brown did from military brat, to the NFL."

On top of the short film, Brown teamed up with fellow Seahawks WR Tyler Lockett, who is a grandson of a Vietnam and Arm veteran, to design a 'military brats' shirt because they wanted to reach military brats all over the world. Every purchase of the stylish product benefits the United Heroes League, which is an organization that helps keep military kids healthy and active through sports.
