Since joining the NFC West as part of the league's 2002 realignment, no team has won more NFC West titles than the Seahawks, who won nine titles under Mike Holmgren and Pete Carroll.

The Seahawks' 15 postseason berths in those 23 seasons also lead the division, and their three NFC titles are tied for the most in that span with the 49ers. Most notably, the Seahawks are one of two teams in the division, along with the Rams, to win a Super Bowl since joining the NFC West.

Seeing as the Seahawks and Rams have battled for NFC supremacy so often over the past two decades, and are the two teams to hoist a Lombardi Trophy since realignment, it's only fitting that the Seahawks will debut their new Rivalries uniform against the Rams when those two teams face off on Thursday Night Football in Week 16.

And with the Seahawks debuting those Rivalries uniforms against the Rams, here at Seahawks.com we're taking a look at 12 of the top moments in the Seahawks vs. Rams rivalry"

December 12, 1991: Seahawks earn first win over Rams.

Prior to the Seahawks joining the NFC West, the Seahawks and Rams were not frequent opponents, but when they did play in the 70s and 80s, the Rams got the better of Seattle, winning the first four meetings in the 1970s and 80s. That changed in 1991 in a late-season game at the Kingdome, with the Seahawks pulling away for a 23-9 victory behind 16 unanswered second-half points.

October 9, 2005: Matt Hasselbeck shines as the Seahawks get a role in a Super Bowl season.

The Seahawks traveled to St. Louis in Week 5 of the NFL season with a 2-2 record, including an 0-2 mark on the road having lost to Jacksonville in Week 1 and Washington in Week 4. Needing a win to get back on track, The Seahawks won a 37-31 shootout over the Rams, with Matt Hasselbeck throwing for 316 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions, and Shaun Alexander adding 119 yards and two scores. The win kicked off an 11-game winning streak that allowed the Seahawks to win a franchise-record 13 games on their way to the NFC's No. 1 seed, and an eventual trip to the Super Bowl.

November 13, 2005: Shaun Alexander adds to his MVP resume in a lopsided win.

The Seahawks added a second win over the Rams as part of the aforementioned winning streak, with Alexander rushing for 165 yards and three touchdowns. The five touchdowns he scored against the Rams in 2005 helped him set a then NFL record with 28 for the season on his way to becoming the first, and so far only, league MVP in team history.

November 29, 2009: The Seahawks extend their winning streak over the Rams to 10 games.

The 2009 season was a challenging one for the Seahawks, who finished with a 5-11 record in their one season under Jim Mora, but it did feature a pair of wins over the Rams. The Seahawks opened the season with a home shutout of the Rams, then in Week 12, they beat the Rams in St. Louis 27-17, their 10th straight win in the series before the Rams snapped the streak the following year. Justin Forsett led the offense with 130 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while cornerback Josh Wilson helped break the game open with a 65-yard pick-six late in the first half.

January 2, 2011: The Seahawks win the NFC West with a Week 17 win over the Rams.

The 2010 season was Pete Carroll and John Schneider's first in Seattle, and featured plenty of ups and downs as they rebuilt the roster throughout the season. But thanks to a down year for the division, the Seahawks, who were 6-9 heading into the final week of the season, were playing for an NFC West title when they hosted the 7-8 Rams. Starting quarterback Matt Hasselbeck missed the game due to injury, but in the biggest moment of his career, backup Charlie Whitehurst was able to help lead the team to a win, a performance highlighted by a 61-yard completion to Ruvell Martin that set up an early touchdown. Seattle's defense did the rest, limiting the Rams to a pair of field goals while forcing nine punts an interception and a turnover on downs. That win set the stage for a memorable wild card win over the defending champion Saints, a game that featured a standout performance by Hasselbeck in his final home game with the Seahawks, and Marshawn Lynch's famous "Beast Quake" run that closed out the victory.

October 28, 2013: Golden Tate's two TDs highlight a gritty road win.

As dominant as the finish to the Seahawks 2013 season was, it can sometimes be forgotten that they had to pull out a lot of close, gritty wins on their way to Super Bowl XLVIII. One such game was a Week 8 game in St. Louis that saw the Seahawks win despite being held to just 135 yards and seven first downs. Interceptions by Bruce Irvin and Richard Sherman helped the Seahawks limit the Rams to three field goals, and the Seahawks got enough offense to win behind an efficient day for Russell Wilson (10 for 18, 139 yards, two touchdowns) and two Golden Tate touchdowns, including an 80-yard catch and run that included Tate taunting a pursuing defensive back for the final 30 or so yards of the play.

December 28, 2014: Seahawks clinch the No. 1 seed for the second straight year.

The Seahawks' title defense got off to a rocky start, with three losses in the first six games and four in the first 10, but starting in Week 12, the Seahawks went on a dominant run, winning their final six games to finish 12-4 on their way to another top seed in the NFC. The Seahawks held five of those six opponents to six or fewer points, including the Rams in Week 17, leading to a 20-6 victory that allowed the Seahawks to clinch the top seed, paving the way for a second straight trip to the Super Bowl. Among the highlights in the win were a 49-yard pick-six from Bruce Irvin, and a touchdown-saving forced fumble at the goal line by Earl Thomas, who punched the ball away from running back Benny Cunningham, leading to a turnover.

December 15, 2016: The Seahawks debut their action green uniforms, and Richard Sherman saves Jared Goff's life.

The Seahawks wore their very bright action green uniforms in a Thursday night game against the Rams in 2016, and were victorious in that new look thanks to a three-touchdown performance from Russell Wilson, and 130 receiving yards, including a 57-yard score, from Tyler Lockett. The most memorable moment from that game, however, featured rookie quarterback Jared Goff scrambling down the sideline in the fourth quarter and inexplicably deciding not to step out of bounds, allowing Richard Sherman to deliver a hard hit that knocked Goff out of the game. As bad as that hit was, Goff was probably glad it happened after reviewing the tape, because only a step or two behind Sherman was Kam Chancellor, one of the hardest hitters of his era, no doubt ready to deliver an even harder blow.

October 3, 2019: Spectacular Tyler Lockett touchdown catch sparks Seahawks win.

The Seahawks struggled against the Rams for a decent part of the last decade, at one point losing five of six meetings from 2017-2020, but one victory in that stretch featured one of the more memorable touchdown catches in Seahawks history. Trailing late in the first quarter, the Seahawks drove into the red zone, then on first-and-10 at the Rams 13-yard line, Russell Wilson escaped pressure, rolled to his left, then lofted a pass towards the back corner of the end zone. Initially, it looked like Wilson might just be throwing the ball away in order to move on to the next play, but Lockett, who has made a career out of spectacular catches, somehow was able to drag both feet while falling out of bounds for a touchdown. That was one of four touchdown passes for Wilson as the Seahawks held on for a 30-29 win.

December 27, 2020: Seahawks clinch NFC West with Week 17 win at Lumen Field.

The 2020 season, played in empty stadiums during the COVID-19 pandemic, saw the Seahawks race to a 5-0 start before losing three of their next four games, including a loss to the Rams in L.A. The Seahawks recovered, however, winning four of their next five heading into a rematch with the Rams, and putting them in position to clinch an NFC West title in their penultimate game of the regular season. Led by a strong defensive performance, which included a Quandre Diggs interception and two sacks from Jarran Reed, the Seahawks won 20-9 to clinch their first division title since 2016. The Seahawks beat the 49ers the following week to finish 12-4, their best record since 2014, but unfortunately were defeated by the Rams in the playoffs the following week.

January 8, 2022: Seahawks clinch a playoff berth with a Week 18 win over the Rams, and some help from the Lions.

The Seahawks headed into the 2022 season with high expectations internally even as much of the football world assumed they would take a step back after moving on from Russell Wilson and Bobby Wagner in the offseason. Thanks in no small part to a Pro-Bowl season from Geno Smith that saw him earn Comeback Player of the Year honors, the Seahawks were in playoff contention all season, and their fates came down to a Week 18 game against the Rams, as well as an NFC North showdown between the Packers and Lions. First, the Seahawks beat the Rams in overtime thanks to a Jason Myers field goal, his fourth of the game, but the celebration was muted, because to make the playoffs, the Seahawks also needed the Lions to beat the Packers on Sunday Night Football. Despite being eliminated from postseason contention by Seattle's win, the Lions still came through, beating their NFC North rivals to send the Seahawks to the playoffs for the 10th time in 13 seasons under John Schneider and Pete Carroll.

January 5, 2025: Mike Macdonald becomes the winningest first-year coach in team history.

The Seahawks went into Week 18 of the 2024 season knowing that, even with a 10th win, they would need help to reach the playoffs. That help didn't end up coming, but they did beat the Rams 30-25, with Geno Smith throwing four touchdown passes, including a fourth-quarter game winner in what ended up being his final game as a Seahawk before being traded in March. Despite a 10-7 record, which made Macdonald the winningest first-year coach in team history, the Seahawks missed out on a playoff berth by the slimmest of margins, losing the fifth tiebreaker, strength of victory, to the Rams, who also finished 10-7 and won the division.

The Seahawks and Rams face off for the last game of the regular season on Sunday, Jan. 5, 2024. Kickoff is set for 1:05 p.m. PT. Take a look back through history at the Seahawks' matchups against the Rams.
