In addition to releasing longtime punter Jon Ryan Monday, the Seahawks also settled their competition at kicker, waiving Jason Myers. That leaves veteran Sebastian Janikowski as the lone kicker on Seattle's roster.
To fill the two vacant roster spots, the Seahawks brought back two players who spent time with the team during training camp, cornerback Elijah Battle and receiver Marvin Bracy.
Bracy, who ran the 100-meter dash in the 2016 Olympics, initially signed with Seattle on July 29, then was waived later in camp. Battle, who went undrafted out of West Virginia in this year's draft, also spent time with the Arizona Cardinals during the offseason. He first signed with the Seahawks on August 12, then was waived on Friday.
Myers, who previously played for the Jacksonville Jaguars, signed a future contract with Seattle in January, and had been competing with Janikowski for the kicking job. Both kickers made all of their field goal and extra point attempts in Seattle's two preseason games.
