Seahawks Host Special Olympics Washington And Minnesota For Special Olympics Unified Bowl

Ahead of Seattle’s home game against the Minnesota Vikings, the Seahawks hosted flag football teams from Special Olympics Washington and Minnesota for the Special Olympics Unified Bowl.

The Seahawks hosted the Special Olympics Unified Bowl at the Virginia Mason Athletic Center, with Special Olympics Washington and Minnesota ahead of their matchup against the Minnesota Vikings.

Special Olympics Washington and Special Olympics Minnesota spent the afternoon competing for the Unified Bowl title.

Unified Sports promotes social inclusion and joins people with and without intellectual or developmental disabilities on the same team.

Family, friends, and fans attended the game and were all given rally towels and personalized signs to cheer on the athletes, made for them by Coca-Cola volunteers.

Both the Seahawks and Vikings surprised athletes with custom jerseys, player contracts, and practice opportunities leading up to the game.

Seahawks Legends Ray Roberts and Sidney Rice, who also played for the Vikings during his NFL career served as honorary captains for the matchup. Blitz, Seahawks Dancers, and Blue Thunder Drumline performed at halftime.

The Special Olympics Unified Bowl is put together by the Vikings, and this was their fifth year bringing the program to a new city. The Seattle Seahawks Unified flag football team walked away with the win and on behalf of the NFL's PLAY 60 initiative the Unified Bowl MVP's, one from each team, were surprised with two tickets each to this season's Super Bowl LX in San Francisco.

After the game, the Seahawks hosted both unified teams for a Thanksgiving dinner to commemorate the experience, and both unified teams attended the Seahawks game vs. the Vikings to conclude the program.

The Seahawks hosted the Special Olympics Unified Bowl at their training facility on Saturday, November 29, 2025 which featured a unified flag football game between Special Olympics Washington and Special Olympics Minnesota.
