Picks And Predictions For Week 8 Matchup Against The New York Giants

Local and national media members make their picks for a Week 8 home matchup vs. the New York Giants.

The Bleacher Report Staff ran a panel and came up with a final score of 26-24 with the Giants beating the Seahawks on the road in Week 8. "Expect this Seahawks-Giants matchup to come down to one late-game mistake. New York has turned the ball over just once over the last three weeks. Seattle has committed at least one turnover in every game this season. With that statistical tidbit, bettors should back the Giants here."

Pete Prisco of CBS Sports NFL is taking the Seahawks to beat the Giants 27-20 at home. "The Seahawks can run it, while the Giants can't stop the run. Look for another big game from Kenneth Walker III as Seattle gets to 5-3 and stays atop the NFC West."

ESPN's Eric Moody and Seth Walder are both choosing the Seahawks to win over the Giants in Week 8. "This is the game in which the dam breaks for the Giants. They've allowed the eighth-most yards per play (5.94) this season but the sixth-fewest points (18.57 points per game). That is an unsustainable recipe for success. Traveling across the country against a good offensive team like Seattle (fifth in the NFL at 26.1 PPG), this is the week the Giants' defense finally has a rough outing."

Bill Bender of The Sporting News has New York defeating Seattle in Week 8 27-20 in a running back battle. "Both teams struggle against the run, so this could be a fun game for fantasy owners of Saquon Barkley and Kenneth Walker III. They're both going to put up numbers. The Giants have played seven straight games decided by eight points or less. How long can Brian Daboll keep it going?"

Mike Florio of NBC Sports "Pro Football Talk" is riding with the Seahawks in a 27-20 win over the Giants. "The Giants are good, but the Seahawks are good enough to pull New York's record back toward reality."

Ralph Vacchiano of Fox Sports NFL is taking the Giants in a very tight 23-20 win over the Seahawks at Lumen Field for Week 8. "The Seahawks have a better passing attack, but star WR DK Metcalf is questionable with a patellar tendon injury. So they may have to grind this game out, too. That's not a bad strategy playing in Seattle, one of the toughest places to play on the road in the NFL. But that's also just playing into the Giants' hands. They want physical, grinding games, not shootouts. They want games to come down to the fourth quarter. And at this point, it's hard to bet against them when they do."

Pro Football Network's Bj Ruddell feels Geno Smiths solid play will continue in Week 8 and take down the Giants. "Seattle's beaten up on a couple of injury-plagued teams, while the Giants are gutting out fourth-quarter wins behind an all-world RB and a subpar passing attack. Granted, Daniel Jones and Geno Smith are playing phenomenally. Both teams match up pretty evenly. This week, I think New York's heroics take a backseat to Seattle's."

The Seahawks and Giants face off for Monday Night Football on Oct. 2, 2023. Kickoff is set for 5:15 p.m. PT. Take a look back through history at the Seahawks' matchups against the Giants.
