The Seahawks will host the 49ers in prime time on Saturday, a divisional round clash between division rivals under the lights at Lumen Field.

Saturday's divisional round matchup will kick off at 5 p.m. and be televised on FOX, ensuring that the Seahawks' first home playoff game with fans in the building in nine years will feature an electric environment.

The Seahawks will be kicking off their postseason with Saturday's game, having earned a first-round bye as the NFC's top seed, while the 49ers, the No. 6 seed, are coming off a win in Philadelphia on Sunday.

This will be the Seahawks' second consecutive game against the 49ers, having beaten them in Week 18 to clinch the NFC West title and the No. 1 seed. That 13-3 win featured a dominant defensive effort, with the Seahawks holding the 49ers to their lowest point total in nine seasons under Kyle Shanahan since they scored three points in his first game as a head coach in 2017, and limited the 49ers to 173 yards, their lowest total under Shanahan.

But as Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald noted on Monday, his team can't assume this game will play out like the one in Santa Clara earlier this month.

"There's things in the game plan [from Week 18] that we didn't get to," he said. "I'm sure there's things in their game plan they didn't get to and to use the game declaring itself type thing. You don't know how these games are going to go. And so this game is going to play out. There's about a 99.999 percent chance it's going to play out way different than the last one. And you got to do a great job of recognizing it and making the adjustments and doing all that type of stuff."

The teams split the regular-season series, which bookended the regular-season schedule, with the 49ers winning 17-13 in Week 1 in Seattle before the Seahawks got the win last weekend in Santa Clara.

This will be the first playoff game between the teams in Seattle since the Seahawks' memorable NFC championship game win after the 2013 season that sent them to Super Bowl XLVIII. Their only other playoff meeting came in the wild card round of the 2022 season, with the 49ers winning at Levi's Stadium in what, prior to this upcoming divisional round game, was Seattle's most recent playoff game.

This weekend's game at Lumen Field will be the Seahawks' first home playoff game with fans in the stadium—they hosted a wild card game in an empty stadium following the 2020 regular season—since they beat the Lions in the wild card round during the 2016 season. Prior to that empty-stadium loss to the Rams five years ago, the Seahawks won 10 consecutive home playoff games dating back to the start of their Super Bowl run in 2005. The Seahawks have reached the Super Bowl in each of the three previous seasons that they earned the No. 1 seed.
