NFL CAREER HIGHLIGHTS:
• Started all 20 games played during Seattle's 2025 Super Bowl LX-winning season. Tied (Uchenna Nwosu, Leonard Williams) for the team-lead with a career-high 7.0 sacks. Seattle was one of two teams with three players with at least 7.0 sacks each. Also set career-highs in tackles (62), tackles for loss (7) and quarterback hits (13). In the Super Bowl vs. New England (2/8/26), recorded two sacks and recovered a fumble that led to a Seattle touchdown.
• Started nine of 14 games played during his rookie season of 2024. Tallied 0.5 sack at New England (9/15/24) and career-high six tackles vs. the L.A. Rams (11/3/24).
COLLEGE:Â Was a three-year defensive lineman who played in 39 games with 16 starts. Named a 2023 second-team All-American by the Associated Press and Sporting News, while being the Big 12 Defensive Lineman of the Year. Earned honorable mention Big 12 Defensive Freshman of the Year in 2021, and selected to the Academic All-Big 12 first-team in 2022. Was a second-team AP All-American and the Big 12 Conference Defensive Lineman of the Year following his junior year in 2023. A first-team All-Big 12 selection, Murphy started all 14 games, compiling 29 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks while also scoring two touchdowns on offense, one rushing and one receiving.
PERSONAL:Â An all-state and two-time all-district honoree and four-year varsity letterman at DeSoto High School. Ranked as the No. 20 defensive tackle and No. 44 player in the state of Texas by 247Sports, the No. 27 defensive tackle and No. 48 player in the state, per Rivals and slotted at No. 33 among his position and No. 75 in the state of Texas by ESPN ... ranked the No. 2 defensive tackle and No. 36 overall in the state by Dave Campbell's Texas Football. Chosen first-team All-District 11-6A after compiling 79 tackles, 22 tackles for loss, 14 sacks, 14 pressures, one fumble recovery and one forced fumble as a senior. Helped DeSoto to an 10-2 overall record, including a 5-1 district mark, and an appearance in the 6A Division 1 quarterfinals in 2020. Selected first-team 6A All-State by the Associated Press and honorable mention by the Texas Sports Writers Association in 2019. Majored in sport management.
