Seahawks Host Mercy Housing Family
The Seahawks welcomed a family of three currently residing at Mercy Housing to team headquarters on Wednesday, December 12 as part of the team's support of the Mount Baker Family Housing & Resource Center. The family watched practice and met with Seahawks coach Pete Carroll, quarterback Russell Wilson, linebacker Bobby Wagner, and more. The Mount Baker Family Housing & Resource Center, funded through an innovative partnership between Mercy Housing Northwest, Paul G. Allen Philanthropies and the City of Seattle, is expected to open in early 2020. The permanent housing facility and its ground floor Family Resource Center will provide affordable housing and services to Seattle-area families with children experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
Seahawks Promote The Launch Of New Online Digital African-American History Course At Kent-Meridian High School
Seattle Seahawks tight end Ed Dickson, mascot Blitz, and Seahawks Legends Edwin Bailey and Randall Morris visited Kent-Meridian high school in Washington to promote the launch of 306 – African-American History, an online digital course exploring the lives, stories and lessons of African Americans throughout history. Edwin, Randall and Ed also participated in a Q&A session with the students on hand. Check out photos from the launch event.
Seahawks Wide Receiver Malik Turner Surprises Issaquah Middle School Teacher as ‘Symetra Hero in the Classroom’
Symetra and the Seahawks honored Issaquah Middle School teacher Traci Brewster as a “Symetra Hero in the Classroom” on Nov. 19, 2019. Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Malik Turner was on hand to help present the award during a surprise assembly at the grades 6–8 school in Issaquah, Washington, where Brewster is an algebra instructor and Math Department lead.
