Union High School's Cale Piland and Toppenish High School's Jason Smith have been selected as the week three winners of the Seattle Seahawks/NFL High School Coach of the Week Award.

Coach Smith led Toppenish High School to a 41-8 victory of Quincy High School on September 19. The win improves the Wildcat's season record to 3-0 and the school's best start in over 20 years.

Union High School, in only its second year of existence, is one of the top ranked 3A teams in the state of Washington. The Titans scored 59 points in a lopsided 49 point victory over Battle Ground High School during week three of the high school football season. The Titans are averaging 42 points per game over the first four games of the 2008 season.

The Seattle Seahawks High School Coach of the Week award winners in Washington State are selected by members of the Washington State Football Coaches Association. Recipients of the award receive a $500 donation for their football program from the Seattle Seahawks and a $100 savings bond from Sterling Savings Bank. At the conclusion of the high school football season one coach will be selected as the NFL High School Coach of the Year for the state of Washington. The NFL High School Coach of the Year receives a $2,000 grant.
