Wednesday Round-Up: Kris Richard Among NFL's Top 10 Defensive Coordinators

A daily link round-up of what's "out there" about your Seattle Seahawks

!

Good morning, 12s.

Here's a look at what's "out there" for today - Wednesday, June 24 - about your Seattle Seahawks:

Kris Richard Among NFL's Top DC's

Bucky Brooks at NFL.com identifies who he considers to be the Top 10 defensive coordinators in the NFL, and Seattle's first-year defensive coordinator Kris Richard makes Brooks' list at No. 10.

On Richard, Brooks writes, "The standout performance of the Seahawks' defense led to head-coaching jobs for the team's previous two defensive coordinators (Gus Bradley and Dan Quinn); Richard could be next in line after the football world gets a look at his defensive brilliance in 2015. The stars from the "Legion of Boom" routinely credit Richard for their collective success as the detailed teacher at the front of the room. Having served as the Seahawks' secondary coach for three seasons prior to being named defensive coordinator, Richard played an integral role in helping Richard Sherman, Kam Chancellor and Earl Thomas become the premier players at their respective positions. His additional development of unheralded prospects like Byron Maxwell and Jeremy Lane speaks volumes about his teaching skills. Considering the impact the "LOB" had on the Seahawks' dominance over the past few years, expect Richard to keep the defense performing at a high level by leaning on the secondary to anchor the unit with exceptional play in the back end."

The Princess Cruise's "Sail with the 12s" departed this past Sunday from Seattle's Pier 91, embarking on a seven-night Seahawks-themed voyage to Alaska.

Several Seattle players, including defensive end Greg Scruggs, tight end Cooper Helfet, right tackle Justin Britt, as well as former Seahawks quarterback Jim Zorn, former safety Jordan Babineaux, and former guard Edwin Bailey, joined roughly 3,000 fans aboard the Crown Princess, which will make stops in Juneau, Skagway, Tracy Arm Fjord, Ketchikan, and Victoria B.C.

We showed you a few photos from their journey on Tuesday, but even more photos are embedded for you above.
